Faru Faru
River Lodge
Faru Faru River Lodge is built on a gently sloping hill, overlooking
a waterhole and the Grumeti River. It is built in the style
of a classic East African safari camp, with the suites and
lodge areas decorated as a throwback to the timeless Colonial
era.
The lodge area offers an airy dining room, lounge, bar, a
shaded lawn, viewing decks overlooking waterholes and the
Grumeti River, satellite TV with DVD player and Play Station,
heated plunge pool, spa and Colonial Trading Post. The Spa
features 2 therapy rooms for treatments. Many treatments can
also be conducted in guest suites.
Walks from Faru Faru River Lodge along the Grumeti River and
game drives can be enjoyed with professional guides - the
most experienced in East Africa, whilst other activities include
archery, lawn croquet, mountain biking, equestrian pursuits,
and hot air ballooning.
Faru Faru River Lodge also has access to the Sasakwa Equestrian
Centre, which is home to 16 horses which are a combination
of polo ponies, part thoroughbreds and warm-blooded sport
horses - all between 14 and 16 hands. Tack is English style
and both English and Western saddles are available. All Equestrian
related activities are led by professional horse guides.
Facilities and activities at Faru Faru River Lodge include
laundry and valet services, board games, a selection of compound
and recurve bows (together with targets) for archery practice
in the bush, mountain biking, lawn croquet and swimming.
Grumeti Reserves is located adjacent to the Western Corridor
of the Serengeti, bordering the national park, and encompasses
400,000 acres of unrivalled wilderness. The area forms part
of the famous migratory route, which is travelled by hundreds
of thousands of animals every year.
Grumeti Reserves is a family friendly reserve, and welcomes
mature and responsible children to Faru Faru River Lodge.
Each of the 6 air-conditioned suites at Faru Faru River Lodge
features a picture window and deck, with its own Swarovski
spotting scope.
Each suite has a reading area and is an en-suite with a bath,
open air shower, hairdryer, electronic safe, air-conditioning,
overhead fan, direct dial telephone, wireless internet access,
a personal bar and fridge.
Faru Faru River Lodge offers a dining area, as well as a bar
and an outdoor barbeque area.
You may also enjoy items such as vegetable sushi, fresh tomato
salsa, and homemade pineapple relish.
A wide selection of fine wines, champagnes and sparkling wines,
cognacs, cigarettes and cigars is available.
